Maize event 5307 has been genetically modified to express the chimeric eCry3.1Ab protein which confers resistance to larval corn rootworm pests. According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the maize event 5307 is substantially equivalent to its conventional counterpart in terms of morphology, nutrition, toxicity and allergenicity.
